Easy To Prepare Recipes
To build muscle, you have to eat... a lot!
Eating has to become somewhat of an obsession.
The problem with this is that you (like me and everyone else) are extremely
busy.
There are only 24 hours in a day and once you add in school, work, kids, errands
and training... you aren't left with much time to cook.
Now here's the really unrealistic part...
Over the last decade, I have had the chance to look at a lot of diets and recipes.
Some of these recipes come from fitness books; some come from workout programs;
and some are created by dieticians.
No matter where these meals plans and recipes come from, they all make the
same mistake:
They are entirely unrealistic!
The most common mistakes I see over and over are:
- Recipes contain too many ingredients
- Meals take too much time to prepare
- Ingredients are too obscure or expensive
- Meals do not store well when refrigerated
Let me ask you... Do you have time to shop for 8-10 ingredients for a meal;
then prepare the meal using a painfully complex, time-consuming recipe?
Sure I could do it as a special treat for my wife, maybe once in a week...
but we must eat six times per day... Monday through Friday!
Let's get real.
It's nice to want a diet with complex recipes and exotic foods, but the reality
is this:
The more difficult a meal plan is to implement
the less likely you are to follow it.
I have seen well-meaning people make this obvious mistake over and over, countless
times. Don't make things more difficult than they already are. This is a sure-fire
way to failure.
So What Do We Do?
First your meals must be dead simple. Simple ingredients, simple to prepare
and easy to store.
Sure it's not exciting or exotic, but when you are eating 42 meals per week,
you just need a quick & fast way to prepare a nutritious meal and get it
eaten so that you can go on with the rest of your day.
